Vulcan successfully train candidates through ELC scheme

Vulcan Fire Training was accepted by the MOD into its Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme in 2009, and in the past 7 years have successfully trained many candidates on the 5 Day Fire Risk Assessor, Fire Manager and Advanced Diploma courses.

Craig Parker - now Trainee Consultant at ACE Ltd - took the 5 Day Fire Risk Assessor (Part 1 of the Fire Manager Certificate) in September this year and provided the following account of his experience:

“Whilst on work placement during my resettlement and termination leave, prior to discharge from the army, I was advised to undertake a fire risk assessment course by my employer, and Vulcan Fire Training was the company recommended by them.

With very helpful staff I enrolled onto the 5-day fire risk assessor course. Feeling a little apprehensive, I attended the course in Warrington. The trainer was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, making it much easier to learn given the fact that everything done on the course was based around real situations that were experienced by the training team.

The course itself was broken down into 2 parts, theory and practical, and the way in which it was taught made it very easy to take in, so by the time it came to do the exam it seemed like second nature, and everything fell into place.

I would most definitely recommend this course to anyone wishing to undertake fire training. Any queries I had were answered very quickly, the trainer drew upon their own experience which proved very useful during the learning process, showing you why things are done the way they are done.

Overall a very good and cost effective course, which I utilised as soon as I returned to work.”
