De-risking your workplace

10th October 2022

Wet winter weather.

With the colder weather arriving, de-risk your workplace with fire safety training.

Winter is looming and companies of all shapes and sizes are preparing the workplace for shorter days and a colder climate. Therefore, now is the ideal time to take a closer look at our fire safety courses.

With increased energy usage and appliances/equipment being switched back on after the spring and summer, the risk of unexpected fire increases. So remember to check your appliances by using a qualified electrician. Portable heaters are often used to give extra warmth in colder rooms or offices, so our top tip is to ensure the heater is fixed to a wall so it cannot fall over. Also keep all heaters away from furniture and curtains.

We also advise to declutter areas that have a lot of people traffic as they can pose a significant fire hazard. Combustible materials such as books and paper also increase the chances of the fire spreading quicker than anticipated. Additionally, cluttered areas can block fire door exits or can pose an obstacle for escape routes. Finally, make sure you check that fire doors are fully operational with visible signage to show where they are. You may be familiar with your workplace, but think about it from the viewpoint of visitors.

Offering a comprehensive course portfolio, our Fire Safety training courses help you plan for the unexpected. With a variety of courses available, we offer Fire Safety training to suit all requirements, regardless of the sector of your organisation.
