As Head of H&S and Compliance at a large Housing Provider I wanted to ensure that I have the right level of skills and competency to enable me to fully understand fire management in all types of buildings from sheltered accommodation to high rise blocks of flats. The Fire Manager Advanced Course was a logical progression for me after completing the Fire Risk Assessor and Fire Manager Course with Vulcan Training. The Advanced Fire Managers course did not disappoint. After a week in the classroom there is a project, I decided that I didn’t just want to pass the course but would use the opportunity to really question and challenge fire safety at work, this resulted in new policies and procedures for my employer as well as the successful completion of my project. I have found the Vulcan courses to be vital to my understanding of Fire Risk Assessment and Management processes. I initially took the five-day Risk Assessor course in 2017 and then followed this through to the Fire Manager course. The progressive steps in the depth of the courses are carefully planned, and linked, culminating in a detailed case study project on a “real” building. The courses have given me the understanding and tools that enable me to provide informed advice to my clients at a much more meaningful level. Whether you’re taking your first steps towards becoming a Fire Risk Assessor or are moving towards a Fire Safety Management role, the courses are well structured and delivered by competent tutors in a clear and concise way. Courses like these can often be functional and dry, but I found them to be enjoyable and all the participants were fully engaged throughout.
