Fire Safety training from your home or business premises

16th February 2023

Want to get skilled up on your fire safety training but can't get to one of our training course venues? Well, don’t fret, we've created a range of easy to access online training programmes for people just like you. They still demand the same level of focus, but they’ll equip you with all of the skills and theoretical knowledge that you need, but you don't have to worry about the logistics of travelling.

Sometimes travelling to a venue for meetings or training can be an arduous process, especially with current public transport issues, or it may just not be feasible with your current work schedule. However, this shouldn’t mean missing out on essential fire safety knowledge. So, we’ve put together a list of our courses that we offer as an online option so you can learn from the comfort of your own home or business premises. Delegates will take part in interactive online sessions via a professional web-based platform delivered by our fully qualified trainers.  However, the course lengths, content, and materials remain the same - and you’ll come away with the same levels of knowledge and expertise as our course attendees.

Fire Manager Course (9 day) - Online
The Fire Manager Course (9 day) combines the Fire Risk Assessor (5 day) and the Managing Fire Safety (4 day) course modules to provide comprehensive, in-depth and practical training on all aspects of fire safety. This comprehensive online course has been designed specifically for individuals employed in a wide range of industrial and commercial backgrounds in both the public and private sector and organisations who require in-depth, practical training in fire risk assessment and fire safety management. Upon successful completion of the course some of the things you’ll be better able to do will be:

  • Interpret fire safety legislation and its requirements.
  • Implement an effective fire safety management structure.
  • Identify and control major fire hazards by setting up a programme of inspections and assessments.
  • Set up and manage an effective fire awareness training scheme.

Fire Risk Assessor Course (5 day) - Online
One of our most popular courses. This 5 day course ensures that, on successful completion, delegates feel competent and empowered to carry out fire risk assessments, produce fire safety reports and fire emergency plans for small to medium size premises in line with current legislation. Forming the first part of the Fire Manager Course (9 day), this course gives delegates the opportunity, at a later date, to enhance their knowledge even further and to be able to apply for Associate Grade with the IFSM or Fire Technician Grade with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), subject to their validation criteria.

Managing Fire Safety Course (4 day) - Online
For those who have successfully completed Vulcan’s Fire Risk Assessor Course this 4 Day manager-level module enables delegates, upon successful completion, to be awarded a prestigious Vulcan Fire Manager Course (9 day) certificate and be eligible to apply to the Institute of Fire Safety Manager (IFSM) or the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) for a professionally recognised qualification, subject to their validation criteria. By covering all of the essentials required to implement an effective fire safety management system, some of the key points covered in this course are Fire Legislation, Building Regulations and Guides; Fire Science; Fire Safety Management; Fixed Installations and Pre-Fire Planning.

Conversion to Fire Manager Course (5 day) - Online
This is a highly practical course that has delegates working on plan drawings using the software provided to produce fire risk assessments, fire safety reports and fire emergency plans. We’ve designed this course specifically for individuals who have taken the NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Assessment Certificate (2014), who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills even further. It also leads to a professionally recognised qualification with either the Institute of Fire Safety Manager (IFSM) or the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), subject to their validation criteria. Proof of success on the NEBOSH FSRM Cert (2014) will be required.
